Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player on the planet by most of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.
Phil began playing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his success. He knows he makes errors every single session of poker and always aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he favors winning cash games on a normal basis.
