Double-hand Poker is a current game with old origins. Founded on the ancient Chinese domino game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the western in a wonderful game for beginner level players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler vs. the croupier, unlike the majority of other poker games that players bet with other gamblers. By wagering against the dealer, beginner players do not need to be concerned about any other, more advanced individuals taking their moolla.

An additional Pai Gow edge is the relatively slow game play, novices are able to take their time and plan without having to make quick selections.

It’s also easier to gamble on for a very long time with just a small amount of money seeing as, to lose, each of your hands must be under each of the houses hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is given seven cards faces showing and the croupier is dealt 7 cards face down.

A five card hand and one 2 card hand have to be put together from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand has to be better than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be higher than the casino’s.
