Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the closing poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He won a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest enthusiasts around the world. While gambling on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He often plays in the 200/400 NL max buy in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I believe Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy-in.
Buying in for the minimum takes most of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be 1 of the best poker players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amt.. I believe tv can skew our perception of the real world at times. The greatest players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be seen participating in web poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in high stakes omaha high and Holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in cash rounds?
