Poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling blackjack than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the house rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little conniving or different kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the croupier declares "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the bank and of course all of the different players attain five cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the bank’s 1st card, you must in turn make a call bet or accede. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original bet, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your wager goes immediately to the casino. After the wager comes the face off. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, including a sum on par with the ante. If the house does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The dealer pony’s up cash even with your wager and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
