Double-hand Poker is a modern game with ancient origins. Built on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the eastern with the wild west in a wonderful game for beginner level gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler against the casino, unlike almost all other poker games that gamblers bet against other gamblers. By wagering against the dealer, beginner players don’t have to be concerned about any other, more experienced people taking their mulla.
A further Pai Gow benefit is the relatively slow game pace, beginners are able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make frenzied choices.
It’s also easier to bet on for a very long time with basically a small bit of cash since, to not win, each of your hands has to be under each of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the customary 52-card common deck and one joker. The gambler is assigned seven cards face up and the dealer is dealt 7 cards face down.
One 5 card hand and a 2 card hand have to be made from the seven cards, the five card hand must be better than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the dealer’s.
